Introduction
This document sets out the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions governing the use of the Peace Giving application ("App"), operated by Mercy to Humanity through its Masjid Aid programme.
Peace Giving is a specialised donation collection platform designed for use by authorised masjids, Islamic educational institutions, and community organisations that have entered into a partnership or service agreement with Masjid Aid. The App is not intended for general public use and is deployed exclusively on approved devices managed by participating organisations.
The App is distributed through the Google Play Store to facilitate secure installation, software updates, maintenance, and security enhancements. Certain deployments may operate in kiosk mode using Android Device Owner capabilities to provide a dedicated donation terminal experience and to prevent unauthorised access to device functions unrelated to donation services.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy and these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
These Terms apply in addition to any separate agreement entered into between Masjid Aid and a participating organisation, including agreements established under the Makatib 4 Orphans (M4O) programme or any other partnership arrangement. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and a separately executed service agreement, the terms of the service agreement shall prevail to the extent of that conflict.
2.1 About This Agreement
These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of the Peace Giving platform and any related services provided by Mercy to Humanity through its Masjid Aid programme.
Peace Giving is a digital fundraising platform developed to help participating masjids and Islamic community organisations receive secure, cashless donations and manage approved fundraising activities.
By accessing, activating, or using the Peace Giving App, you confirm that you have authority to act on behalf of the organisation using the platform and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
In these Terms, "Peace Giving", "Masjid Aid", "we", "our", and "us" refer to Mercy to Humanity (Charity Number 1195998) and its authorised representatives.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
2.2 Who May Use the App
Peace Giving is not a public fundraising platform and is not intended for unrestricted public use.
Access to the platform is limited to organisations that have been approved and onboarded by Masjid Aid, including participating masjids, Islamic educational institutions, and charitable community organisations.
By using the platform, you confirm that:
Your organisation has been approved by Masjid Aid for charitable fundraising activities.
You are authorised to create campaigns, receive donations, and administer the platform on behalf of your organisation.
All fundraising activities conducted through the platform are lawful, transparent, and consistent with the charitable objectives of your organisation.
The platform will not be used for political fundraising, commercial fundraising, personal financial benefit, or any activity that may damage the reputation of Mercy to Humanity, Masjid Aid, or participating organisations.
We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or withdraw access where we reasonably believe the platform is being used outside these purposes.
2.3 Relationship with Masjid Aid Partnership Agreement
Where an Islamic establishment has entered into a separate partnership agreement with Masjid Aid (for example, under the Makatib 4 Orphans programme or a training services arrangement), these Terms and Conditions apply alongside that agreement. In the event of any conflict, the formal partnership agreement shall take precedence.
Access to the donation tablet and App functionality is provided at no cost to the masjid. All fundraising activities must adhere to the 100% donations policy of Mercy to Humanity, where applicable to campaign funds designated for humanitarian causes.
2.4 Your Responsibilities as a Fundraiser
As a masjid administrator using the Peace Giving App, you are responsible for:
Ensuring all fundraising campaigns comply with applicable UK charity law and fundraising standards.
Adhering to the Fundraising Code of Practice issued by the Fundraising Regulator (England, Wales and Northern Ireland)
Appointing a clear point of contact within your organisation for all communications with Masjid Aid.
Ensuring that donor data collected through your campaigns is handled lawfully and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Notifying Masjid Aid promptly of any change to your organisation’s registration, status, or contact details.
Ensuring that any M4O Collection (Makatib 4 Orphans fundraising) is conducted in accordance with the requirements set out in your partnership agreement, including providing fundraising boxes, facilitating the collection period, and returning all funds to Mercy to Humanity.
If someone makes a reasonable complaint about your fundraising, we will forward it to you. We reserve the right to take appropriate action, including suspending your account or notifying relevant authorities, where required by law or to protect the integrity of the platform.
2.5 M4O Collection - Specific Obligations
Where the App is used in connection with the Makatib 4 Orphans (M4O) Collection programme:
Fundraising boxes must be provided to all participating children.
Children must be given a period of typically 2–3 weeks to raise funds.
The highest fundraiser will receive a tablet as a prize. All participants receive a certificate and small gifts.
All funds raised are donated directly to Mercy to Humanity and are subject to their 100% donation policy.
Participation in the M4O Collection is a prerequisite for receiving Training Services from Masjid Aid at no cost.
2.6 Data Protection and Responsibilities
When you use the Peace Giving App to create campaigns and receive donations, your organisation acts as the data controller for donor information collected through those campaigns.
Peace Giving, operated by Mercy to Humanity, acts as a data processor in relation to that information and processes personal data only to the extent necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and support the platform and related services. Access to personal data is limited to authorised personnel and only where required for technical support, operational assistance, security, compliance, or other legitimate service-related purposes.

2.7 Platform Availability
While we strive to maintain reliable and uninterrupted service, Peace Giving does not guarantee that the App will be available at all times. Outages or interruptions may occur during scheduled maintenance or technical incidents. Masjid Aid will endeavour to provide advance notice of planned downtime where reasonably practicable.

2.8 Intellectual Property
All content, software, branding, and materials provided through the Peace Giving App and Masjid Aid programme, including training materials, templates, and platform design, remain the intellectual property of Mercy to Humanity.
You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App and associated materials solely for the purposes set out in this agreement and your partnership arrangement with Masjid Aid. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit these materials without prior written consent.
Use of Peace Giving branding or imagery for promotional or educational purposes requires that you:
Display the attribution: “Peace Giving platform shown with permission.” or include the Peace Giving logo (available on request).
Include a link to https://www.peace-giving.com
Not alter, distort, or misrepresent Peace Giving’s branding, services, or affiliations in any way.
Masjid Aid reserves the right to revoke permission for use of its branding or imagery at any time.
2.9 Account Suspension or Closure
We reserve the right to suspend or close your account if we reasonably believe that you have:
Violated these Terms and Conditions
Used the platform for unlawful purposes
Failed to meet the obligations of your partnership agreement with Masjid Aid
Failed to act in good faith
Either party may request account closure at any time with 30 days’ written notice. In the event of a material breach, immediate termination may be applied upon written notice.
2.10 Liability
Mercy to Humanity and Masjid Aid shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Peace Giving App or the provision of training services.
By using the App, your organisation agrees to indemnify and hold Masjid Aid and Mercy to Humanity harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from misuse of the App, failure to conduct fundraising activities as agreed, or breach of these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
2.11 Confidentiality
Both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of any proprietary or sensitive information shared during the course of this arrangement. This obligation survives the termination of any partnership agreement or cessation of use of the App.
2.12 Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from the use of the App or the terms of this document shall be resolved in the first instance through good-faith discussion between the parties. Where a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute will be subject to the laws of England and Wales.
2.13 Updates to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes will be reflected in an updated version of this document, with a revised effective date. We may also notify you by email or through the App. By continuing to use the App after any updates take effect, you agree to the revised Terms.
2.14 Managed Donation Devices and Kiosk Operation
To support secure donation collection, Peace Giving may be installed on dedicated tablets or devices supplied, configured, or approved by Masjid Aid or a participating organisation.
Where required, these devices may operate in kiosk mode using Android Device Owner capabilities. This allows the device to function as a dedicated donation terminal and prevents unauthorised access to applications, settings, or functionality unrelated to donation services.
These controls are applied solely to organisation-owned or organisation-managed devices that have been intentionally enrolled for this purpose.
The purpose of kiosk operation is to:
Protect donors and fundraising activities from unauthorised interference.
Ensure a consistent donation experience.
Reduce the risk of misuse, tampering, or accidental configuration changes.
Enable secure deployment, maintenance, updates, and support.
Peace Giving does not use these controls to monitor personal devices or collect information unrelated to the operation of the platform.
Organisations using managed donation devices acknowledge and accept these device management controls as part of the service provided through Masjid Aid.
